Fourth wife of Samuel P. Whisenant. Sam and Vesta were married on March 24, 1930 in Bakersfield, Ozark Co., MO. Sam outlived Vesta by three days.

Vesta's first husband was Thomas J. Loftiss with whom she married on 7/23/1868 in Scotland Co., Missouri. Together they had numerous children including several from Thomas's earlier marriages. This couple later separated and divorced sometime before 1900 and Thomas went off to Oklahoma to live and subsequently died in 1907.

Vesta then married John Roberts on 5/16/1901 in Howell Co., MO and with whom she lived until he died in September of 1926. John helped raise the younger children. A close bound existed with these younger children and John.

When Vesta died, her son, Victor, arranged for her to be buried next to John Roberts. Victor had traveled from Memphis to visit his ailing Mother. Victor was also the informant on the Missouri Death Certificate.
