Garland Parson, 62, of Rt. 5, Box 71, Huntsville, died April 25, 1988, at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He was born May 28, 1925, at Whorton Creek, Ark., the son of Homer and Bertha Phillips Parson. He was a retired service station manager, a Baptist and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eunice Cain Parson of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Beverly M. Wallace of Huntington Beach, Calif.; seven brothers, Chesley Parson and Lee Parson, both of Tecumseh, Okla., Bill Parson of Elkins, Dorsey Parson and Sam Parson, both of Huntsville, and Henry Parson of Springdale; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Elam of Great Bend, Ore.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Thursday April 28, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Butch Bolinger and the Rev. Harold DuVall officiating. Interment was in the Whorton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Hugh Parson, Howard Bolinger, Dwight Steele, Leonard Stansell, Buddy Spurlock and Tobe Bohannan.
