Mrs. Sarter was born April 24, 1920 in Marysville, Idaho. She had been a resident of the Shelton area for 42 years. She had moved to Olympia five years ago.
She is survived by her husband, William Harold Sarter of Olympia; three daughters Arlene Liles of Shelton, Norma Bisom of Yakima, and Peggy Marcy of Shelton; two sons, Russell Morken and Stan Morken, both of Shelton; three brothers, Sterling Whittle of Shelton, Verner Whittle of Salem, Oregon, and Melvin Whittle of Seattle; three sisters, Myrtle Vanderhoof of Shelton and Ilene McClellan and Ferne Ifland, both of Brookings, Oregon; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held October 22 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Bishop Robert Nielson officiated. Burial followed at Shelton Memorial Park. Arrangements were made under the direction of McComb and Batstone Funeral Home.
