Emmett Acock married his sister-in-law, Sallie Elizabeth Phillips on 28 December 1905 at Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas.
Services for E.R. Acock were held in the First Baptist Church. A retired businessman, he assisted his son in recent years at Marion's Grocery store on North Tennessee Street. He moved to Graham in 1925 from Parker County. Mr. Acock had one of the finest horse-pulling teams in the county during the 1920s. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons; one daughter; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
