The many friends of the Edwin Greening family assembled at the home in Westville, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock to pay their final respects to a true and beloved friend. The Rev. F. E. Henninger officiated with interment in the Westville cemetery.
Mrs. Rose E. Greening, age 75, was the daughter of Orrin and Sarah Burgess, born January 22, 1859 on a farm north of Westville. She spent her entire life in this community.
On August 3, 1879, she was united in marriage to Edwin Greening at Lansing, Michigan. Four children were born to them, three daughters, Edna, Daisy and Nina who preceded their mother in death, and Paul Greening, residing west of Westville.
The Greenings moved to Westville in 1923 and have resided here ever since. Mrs. Greening has been an invalid for more than fifteen years, most of the time she was confined to a wheel chair. Her ever faithful husband assisted and comforted her during the dark hours of her life, making them easier and more pleasant to bear.
Mrs. Greening's condition became critical a week ago Wednesday, the family was called to her bedside and the next day at 12:25 p.m. she was called to the Great Beyond.
She was a member of the Rebekah lodge of Westville.
Surviving are one son, Paul Greening, of Westville; four grandchildren, Roy Warnhoff, Rosemary, Russell and Ruth Greening all of Westville and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Dodd of Okanogan, WA., and Mrs. Ruth A. Reed of Kettle Falls, WA.
