Carroll Abe Burgess, 53, of Route 5, Box 700, Huntsville, Ark., died Sept. 28, 1994, at his home. He was born Feb. 9, 1941, at Whorton Creek, Ark., the son of Doyle Green and Florence Steele Burgess. He was retired from the California Highway Patrol, was a member of the California Retired Highway Patrol Association and a Freewill Baptist.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Charolotte Faye Red Burgess of the home; one son, Carroll Abe Burgess Jr. of Wesley; one daughter, Mrs. Florence Annette Nelson of Springdale; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Augela Fritz of Mesa, Ariz., and Mrs. Belinda Williams of Rogers; two brothers, Doyle Burgess Jr. of Oakland, Calif. and Jerry D. Burgess of Huntsville; one sister, Mrs. Maxine Mitchell of Midwest City, Okla.; two grandsons, Willie Abe Nelson and Warner James Burgess; one granddaughter, Miss Whitney Lyn Burgess; one stepgrandson, Jason Goodnight; three stepgranddaughters, Miss Ashely Tevebaugh, Miss Cilinda Williams, and Miss Kayla Fritz.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Whorton Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Butch Bolinger. Arrangements were under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
