Malous Brashears moved to Tonk Valley in Young County with is parents in 1901. At his death, he was living in the Red Top Community.

Funeral officiated by Rev. Dallas Lee, pastor of Graham First Baptist church.

Survivors: wife; one son - M.R. Brashears of Azle; four daughters - Mrs. Bud Johnson, Mrs. Jim Phillips, Mrs. H.L. Gillentine, all of Graham; Mrs. James L. Copeland of Midland, three brothers - Homer Brashears of Graham, June Brashers of Fort Worth, Earl Brashears of Seattle, Washington, six grandchildren.
