Sgt. Truman Brashears was killed in action. He was previously reported missing. Sgt. Brashears was killed while participating in an attack on a town somewhere in Germany. He was 29 years old and had entered the US Armed Forces in April of 1942. He was a member of the 90th Division, which was activated at Camp Barkley, Texas. Before entering the service, he was employed by the State Highway Department in Graham.
Survived by his parents; one brother - M.R. Brashears, Jr.; four sisters - Tina, Betty, Mary Lou, Brashears, and Mrs. L.C. Johnson.
