"The death of Miss Elma Moxley of Los Angeles,
formeerly of Merced, occurred Monday at
Queen of the Angels Hospital in Los Angeles.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Ivers
and Alcorn Mission Chapel.
Miss Moxley, sister of the late Lillian
Moxley Casad of Merced, came to Merced from
Missouri in 1902 with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Washington Moxley, who preceded her in
death. Her brothers, Roy and Martin, are also
deceased.
She had been a teacher in Los Angeles city
schools from 1912 until her retirement in
1942. She was graduated from College of the
Pacific at Stockton and State Teacher's
College in Santa Barbara. She also taught
for a time in Merced County. She had been
a patient at the hospital for eight months.
Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Casad left today for
Los Angeles, called there by Miss Moxley's
death."
