*Story written by Dianne Brown Buchwitz:
Marion Earl Brown - Feb.23,1932 - Aug.11,1968
Marion was one of the six children born to John Edward & Minnie Ruth Brown. Marion served in the army during the Koren war. He was proud to have served his country, but was even prouder to have been the the Strength that held together his family. In 1951 he married Shirley Ann Hambrick. Together they produced a loving family. Judy Dianne, Peggy Joyce, Rodney "Randy" Earl and Donna Sue Brown. Even though his life was short lived he enjoyed it to the fullest. The biggest passion in his life was fishing and camping. I do believe that he loaded up his family every weekend and off to the lake they would go. It was a wonderful adventure. We had no running water and no electricity but we had so much fun. I remember taking baths in the lake. I remember him teaching us to swim. His idea of lessons was to throw us in the water over our heads and say, OK, you can swim or drown. We swam, but we always knew that he would have never let us drown. I love him for teaching us the values of life. He loved adventure but he also knew that there were important things in life that needed taken care of before the fun could come. He taught us to make sure everything in the house was tidy and in its own place, and then the fun could began. He was a strong stern man, but he was also a great big teddy bear. My daddy - Marion Earl Brown knew that family meant everything. And without family to share your life with meant you didn't have anything. You could have all the riches in the world but without family you would be the poorest person in the world. I thank my daddy for teaching me values and how to have a good time.
