Obituary;
Mrs. H.H. Barnhart, 68, passed away at her home here Sunday May 12, 1940. Her death culminated a long period of ill health and a brief critical illness due to a stroke sustained last Friday. Funeral arrangements are pending. Flora Alice Page, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Page was born Aug. 11, 1871 at the family home here. She was educated in the rural and local schools and was engaged in teaching for several years. Following her marriage to Harley H. Barnhart her home was made on a farm near Webster City. Since retiring from the farm the hone has been here. Mrs. Barnhart was a member of the Methodist Church, Ladies Aid Society and W.F.M.S. taking an active part in the work of all until ill health prevented. She was the last of her immediate family, her parents, one sister, Alma and two brothers Merten H. and Seldon B. Page having preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Eggenberger, of Houston Texas, one grandson, many other relatives and friends.

She graduated from the Colesburg High School in the class of 1890. She attended Highland Park College in Des Moines one year. She taught school seven years: six years in various country schools and one year in Colesburg. A part of this time she taught in "The white schoolhouse," Mallory District No. 6, where at some previous time her father, her two brothers and her sister each had been the teacher.
