Obituary:
Funeral services for Harley Barnhart were held at the First Methodist church in Colesburg, Saturday Oct. 12 with the Rev. George Youtzy officiating. Burial was made in the Oak Hill cemetery near Colesburg with Clifton Funeral home in charger of arrangements. Mr. Barnhart died at Mercy hospital in Dubuque, Oct. 9 following a cerebral hemorrhage.
Harley Barnhart, son of Thomas and Viola (Hall) Barnhart was born Oct. 12, 1876 on a farm in Clayton county. His early life was spent on the farm.
He was united in marriage to Flora Page March 8, 1899 at Colesburg and they were the parents of one daughter, Dorothy, now Mrs. David Eggenberger of Houston Tex. From the early 1900's until 1918 the family farmed near Webster Cit. They returned to Colesburg where they have since made their home. Mrs. Barnhart died in 1940.
In 1946 he married Kathryne Welsch of Colesburg. He was a member of First Methodist church, Constellation lodge, A.F.& A.M. and Minnehaha chapter OES.
Mr. Barnhart is survived by his wife and daughter: a stepson Herald Welsh of Colesburg and Harry of Colesburg: a sister, Mrs. Norma McDowell of Colesburg and three grandchildren.
