Mrs. Zilpha Weagant
Citizens of Six Oakes and vicinity were pained to learn on Friday morning of last week of the death of their friend and neighbor, Mrs. J. M. Weagant. Mrs. Weagant received a stroke of paralysis on Saturday September 27. She was taken shortly after midnight and was from that tie speechless, and her right side paralized. She never rallied from the shock, though she seemed concious until within a few hours of her death, which occured on Friday morning, Oct. 2d.
Mrs. Zilpha Weagant was born at Stanford, Vt., Oct. 27, 1836. Visiting relatives in this state she met and became acquainted with J. M. Weagant to whom she was married in 1860. They settled on a farm in Six Oakes shortly after they were married, and with the exception of a couple of years spent near Owatonna, have always made that vicinity their home. She has been a sufferer from appoplexy fro twenty-nine years, though she bore her troubles patiently and never complained of her sufferings. She was a women loved and respected by all who knew her, has always been a good and faithful wife and a kind mother. She was baptised and joined the Advent Christian church twenty-seven years ago and in 1890 became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. She has always lived a christian life, was attentive to her christian duties and a great worker in the Sunday school.
She was the mother of seven children six of whom are living and five of whom were present at her death.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Rev. Miller of Dover, officiating.
