DERA KEEN- March 25, 1933 - July 4, 1999
Dera Kee of Rogers, Ark., formerly of Boulder, died Sunday, July 4, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. She was 66.
She was born March 25, 1933, in Austin, Texas, to Charles Mitchell and Evelyn Westmoreland Mitchell. She married Joe Keen on June 1, 1954, in Nampa, Idaho.
Mrs. Keen owned and operated the Rogers Townhouse, an assisted-living facility for the elderly in Rogers, for 22 years. She was a director of accounting for Boulder Valley School District vocational-technical school. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Colorado.
Mrs. Keen lived in Boulder from 1954 to 1974.
She belonged to the First Church of the Nazarene in Rogers and the Rogers Board of Realtors. She enjoyed learning and playing piano.
Survivors include her husband of Rogers; a daughter, Molly Keen Mitchell of Rogers; two brothers, Charles Mitchell of Rogers and Eugene Mitchell of Grants Pass, Ore.; three sisters, Ruth Blowers of Bradenton, Fla., Sara Gerig of Albany, Ore., and Neva Grauberger of Longmont; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Rollins Funeral Home, 1401 Hudson Road, Rogers. A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene in Rogers. The Revs. Fred Agee and Bob Mitchell will officiate.
