Information from "A History of Texas and Texans" by Francis White Johnson Published in 1914, pg.1438

Charles Frank Wilson was the first of his siblings born in Dade County, Missouri (my sources list his birthday as March 16, 1857 - PJ) where his family settled after moving west from Monroe County, Tennessee. The sixth of fifteen children, he received his schooling there, and completed his literary education in the Methodist college at Morrisville, Polk County, MO. At age ninteen he left home to be a farmer, and soon married Mary Eliza "Mollie" Rector, daughter of Grigsby and Angeline Butler Rector, on July 15, 1877 in Dade County, MO.

They farmed in the Dade County area for five years then moved to Wise County, Texas where he established a small merchandise business. The 1886-87 drought years were very difficult for business. Frank turned his attention to the study of medicine, while at the store, evenings at home, and with whatever equipment he was able to acquire by his own efforts. He was well advanced when he sold his store in 1888 to enter Louisville Medical College. He qualified for practice after one term and spent two years at Boonsville, Wise County, Texas.

He then returned to college, entering the University Medical College at Kansas City, Missouri, where he was graduated M.D. in 1891. His medical practice was again located at Boonsville until 1905. In March of 1905 he moved to Memphis, Texas, and in 1909 Dr. Wilson erected the Wilson Sanitarium, a modern and well equiped hospital.

Dr. Wilson owns farm land in Donley County, and owns his hospital, residence and other real estate. He is a Democrat in politics and a great admirer of Woodrow Wilson. He is affiliated with the Masonic Order through the Chapter Masonry. He has served as president of the Hall County Medical Society for three years, and is also a member of the American Medical Association.

Dr. and Mrs. Wilson have five children as follows: Dr. Winfred Wilson, a graduate of John Hopkins and associated with his father's practice in Memphis; Viola, wife of G.A. Wimberly; Mary Leone, Maggie and Thomas Gordon.
