Pont was the son of to Homer D. and Silla Langston Killion. His parents are buried in Fields Chapel Cemetery. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Post 3907. He married Pauline Madge Nanse Killion 27 June 1980 in Anderson Co, TX. He was residing in Palestine at the time of his death in a Tyler Hospital. He was survived by his wife, Pauline; one daughter, Lorraine Killion Satterwhite of Tennessee Colony; on step-daughter, Dianne McCracken Lawrence of Lufkin; two sons, David Killion and Smokey Killion, both of Palestine; one stepson, Patrick Nanse McCracken of Dallas; two sisters, Amann Walling of Tyler and Dot Hinson of Palestine; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Sunday, 24 August 2003.
