HERBERT A. MATTINGLY, 66, of Corydon, died last Thursday at 12:05 a.m. at Harrison County Hospital. He was born May 5, 1913 in Hardin County, Ky, the son of Benjamin and Lura Hayden Mattingly. He was a retired merchant and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon. Survivors are his wife, the former Anna Lea Hunter; three sons, Joe, Larry and Dr. John Mattingly, all of Corydon; two daughers, Mrs. Myrna Fravel of Corydon and M. Sgt. Lura Mattingly of San Antonio, Tex.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The funeral was held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's with Father Ernest Strahl officiating. Pallbearers were Thomas and Clarence Hunter, Earl Hayden, Harold Lasley, Elmer Rhodes and Francis Ernst. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rosary was recited on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Gehlbach-Royse Funeral Home, Corydon.
