Mrs. T.H. Jouett Funeral Services Held Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. T.H. Jouett, 80, who died at 4:30 Monday morning in a local hospital were conducted at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Estelline High School auditorium by Min. Odell Purdy of the Turkey Church of Christ.
Mrs. Jouett, a pioneer of Hall County, had been seriously ill in the hospital for the past two weeks.
Miss Belle Izora Nelson was born Feb. 2, 1875, in Kentucky. She came to Texas with her parents while still a child, and married T.H. Jouett in Murphy, Texas, Jan. 28 1891. She was a member of the Estelline Church of Christ.
Mr. and Mrs. Jouett celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary two months ago.
The couple moved to Hall County in 1911 and settled in the Hulver community where they farmed for many years.
She is survived by her husband of Estelline; four daughters, Mrs. Mable Metcalf, Clovis, N.M., Mrs. Nettie Tipton, Lamesa, Mrs. Nellie Burk, Parnell, Mrs. Marie Armstrong, White Deer; six sons, W.F. Jouett, Parnell, Z.H. Jouett, Clovis, N.M., Joe Jouett, Estelline, Edgar Jouett, Alamogordo N.M., 44 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the services were Mrs. Jouett's grandsons.
Burial was in the Hulver cemetery with Spicer Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
