Mother of 12 children. Docia lived in Wayne Co., Kentucky until she was 11 years old. Some of her Daffron and Nelson relatives told of the opportunities in Texas so her family arrived in Plano, Tx. in March 1884. They had to cross the Cumberland River in a wagon with all their belongings and travel 40 miles to the nearest railroad station.

After her marriage, Docia and husband John settled in the Murphy community and farmed and raised their children, moving into the city of Plano on 15th St. after their retirement from farming.
