Mrs. Boortz was born July 29, 1935, in Blair, Okla., to Ernest and Myrtle Lomer Bowman. She married Clarence Walter "C.W." Boortz, Sept. 17, 1978, in Fort Worth. She was a former resident of Dallas, moving to Granbury in 1972. She did the accounting for Boortz Construction Company and later volunteered at Crossland 9th Grade Center and was a substitute teacher at Baccus Elementary School where she was known as "Ms. Mary." She was a member of the Harvest Church.
Survivors: Daughters, Sharon Hindman and Dee Langwell, both of Granbury, Darla Martinets and Buddy Cox of Taylor; son, Christopher Boortz of Granbury; stepson, Rodney Boortz and wife, Jennifer, of Fort Worth; five granddaughters; one grandson; three great-granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.
