Mrs. Veda B. Bailey Rites Set Today At 3:00 PM In Itasca
Last rites for Mrs. R. L. (Bob) Bailey, 62, who passed away at her home, 308 East Adams Street, in Itasca, Wednesday, April 14, at 2:30 PM, have been set for 3 o'clock this afternoon, Friday, April 19, from the Itasca Church of Christ. Officiating will be Mr. Bobby Williams, minister of the Church, Rev. John Williams, pastor of the First Methodist Church, and Rev. W.J. Ballard, pastor of the Central Baptist Church. Mrs. Veda B. Bailey was a native of Hill County. She was born Jan. 27, 1903 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie White. She had lived in this community all of her life. She was married on December 22, 1923, to Mr. Bob Bailey of Itasca.
For a number of years they resided on the farm in this community, and only recently they had moved to 308 East Adams St., in Itasca. Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Itasca Church of Christ, having become a member of the church in 1924. Internment will be in the Itasca Cemetery under direction of Hollingsworth and Marshall Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be E.E. Calfee, Milton Nalley, Fred Alverson, J.M. Cordell, Gerald Pruitt and Paul Underwood. Survivors include her husband, Bob Bailey of Itasca; one son, Bobby Bailey, of Itasca; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie (Ira) Beard of Itasca, and Mrs. Mamie Odom of Dallas.
