Nora Day 1881-1961

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Walter E. Day, pioneer resident of Bagley who died at the local hospital Saturday, February 11. The last rites were held at the Congregational Church with the Rev. Eugene Claasen officiating. Burial arrangements are in charge of the Cease Funeral Home.
Nora Emelia Day was born on July 9, 1881 in Vermont Township, Dane County, Wisconsin. Her parents were Andrew and Indiana Moen. In her childhood, the family moved to Volga, South Dakota. It was here that her mother passed away when Nora was only eight years old. After this, the Moen family moved to Grafton, North Dakota, and in 1898 came to Bagley, Minnesota.
Mrs. Day's father helped organize the Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Bagley and Mrs. Day and her sister Mrs. Huseby are charter members of that church.
It was in Bagley that Nora Met Walter Day. They were married on the 25th of June, 1906 at Kallispell, Montana where they made their home for 3 1/2 years. In 1909, the day' moved back to Bagley and have made their home there since.
In 1914 Mr. and Mrs. Day joined the Congregational Church in Bagley in Bagley where Mrs. Day has at various times held many responsible positions in the church.
Mrs. Day had been in delicate health for the past several years. She passed away on February eleventh, at Clearwater Memorial Hospital in Bagley. She was 79 years old. Her parents preceded her in death and also one son, Hiram, who passed away in infancy.
Mrs. Day is survived by her husband Walter, and two sons: Morris of Sault St. Marie, Michigan and Evan of Minneapolis, and five grandchildren. She also has a brother living at Kallispell, Montana: Oscar Moen, and a sister living in Snoqualmie Falls, Washington: Mrs. Sarah Huseby.
Burial will take place at the Bagley City Cemetery.
