Aaron's mother was from NY and father from RI. He lived in Troy, NY and first married Elizabeth then later married Lydia C. (not sure at what point he married Lydia or how his marriage ended with Elizabeth i.e. death or divorce) 1850 census statest that he was 31, Elizabeth 25 & George W. 4, Lewis B. 2, Eliza W. 3 months. They had another child on July 4, 1854: Mary Barker.
Aaron was a stove dealer and coal merchant. He owned his business along with a partner, Edward Bolton. The business name was 'Bolton & Anthony' on 889 River St. in Troy.
He died from 'cerebritis, arteriosclerosis'.

The following was sent to me by FAG contributor Lydia Anthony re: Aaron's wife. It was published in the Simi Weekly Times, Troy, NY, Feb. 22, 1910:

"Word was received in this city yesterday of the death at Orange, Cal., of Mrs. Lydia B. Anthony, formerly of Troy. Mrs. Anthony was the wife of the late Aaron C. Anthony, and is survived by a son, J. Erwin Anthony, Secretary and Treasurer of the Troy Savings Bank, and a daughter Mrs. C. W. Hollister, at whose home in Orange, Cal., Mrs. Anthony died. The deceased was a native of this city and lived here until about five years ago. She was eighty-three years of age. Mrs. Anthony was a valued member of the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church of this city and was well known to many residents of Troy."
