Former Farmersville Man Dies On Coast

Rites are held at Montebello, Calif, for Charles Foster, 71

Charles Foster, 71, died recently at his home at 128 south Spruce Street, Montebello, California, following a heart attack. He had resided in Montebello for the last four years, and was employed by the Western Auto Supply Company of Los Angeles.

Surviving are his widow, Mary Bell Foster; four children, Frank Lewis Foster of Los Angeles, Lydia Pearl Adams and Alberta Caroline Woolbert of Montebello, and Alice Bell Watson of Sherman Oaks, a brother John Foster of Trenton, Mo. five grandchildren, Mrs Mary Evelyn Harvey, a missionary in Wasilla, Alaska, Lela Mae and Ila Ruth Adams, Betty Jane and Roland Dale Clark, all of Montebello and one great grandchild Donna Marie Harvey of Alaska. His parents, one sister, one brother and three grandchildren preceded him in death.

Funeral Services were held in the Moritz Chapel with Rev. George Russell Barber, pastor of the Park Avenue Church of Christ, officiating. Miss Lela Mae Adams, grand daughter of the deceased acted as accompanist. Interment was in Rose Hills Memorial Park.

Mr. Foster was born March 31, 1876, on a farm near Trenton, Mo. He received his education there and married Miss Mary Bell Crisswell of Trenton on October 15, 1899. He united with the Christian Church of Farmersville, Mo. in 1901. When he and his family moved to California 8 years ago and purchased their home in Montebello, he placed his membership in the Park Avenue Church of Christ.
