John Foster Dies; Retired Farmer

Funeral Services Wednesday 2:30 pm at Liberty Chapel

John Foster, retired farmer, died at 4:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at his home south of Trenton. He had been in failing health since last February. He had lived in Grundy County all his life.

Mr. Foster was a member of the Liberty Chapel Christian church and an active worker in community affairs, having served as assessor for several years. He was a dealer in hides and furs for about 35 years.

The body was brought to the Gipson Funeral home in Trenton, where it will remain until Wednesday morning when it will be taken to the home. Funeral services will be held at Liberty Chapel at 2:30 pm that afternoon.

Mr. Foster was born July 26, 1874, a son of John and Hattie Foster. On Jan 2, 1898. he was married to Ida Dickman who survives. Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Cox, Route 3, Mrs. Lottie Hubbard, Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Hattie Overton, Chillicothe; a son, Floyd Foster, Route 3, six grandchildren, and a great grandchild. A grandson, Franklin Cox, died Nov 3, 1944.

The family will be at Gipson's Tuesday evening to meet friends.
