Sister Hardcastle Passes

After a long affliction, the last month of which was a very acute and critical illness, Sister Walter Hardcastle (nee Minnie Lee Norman) answered her long desired call, "Child come home," Monday April 10, 1961.

In 1939 Sister Hardcastle suffered a stroke, from which she was never able to walk again. But she was not one to consider herself helpless or give up activities she could at all perform. Until the last few years, from her wheel chair, she maintained her persoanl pride and her good housekeeping, exceeding many of us who have no physical disabilities.

Sister Hardcastle was a beloved and esteemed member of our church, the Primitive Baptist here in Killeen, having been a member since early womanhood. Until her affliction, she was a faithful and regular attendant, but for a number of years her affliction prevented her attending often.

Her funeral, Wednesday, April 12, was conducted by Elder Len Dalton, assisted by Rev. R. E. Lambert, pastor of Killeen First Baptist church, after which her body was placed to rest by the resting place of her husband in the Killeen cemetery.

In recent years, Sister Hardcastle was preceded in death by her husband, a son and daughter. Surviving are two sons, Rev. Willard Hardcastle (Missionary Baptist), Sedona, Arizona and Howard Hardcastle, Colorado City, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Oma Mills, Killeen, Mrs. Edna Davis, Lampasas, Texas and Mrs. Margie Board, Corpus Christi, Texas. To each of them and also in behalf of her church, we extend our sincere sympathy in the loss of their good mother and pray that God may bestow grace for their every need.
Mrs. J. C. Morgan.
