Jack Hardcastle of Aleman died Saturday in Waco. He was 69.
Services were held Tuesday in Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rex Tilly officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
He was born January 17,1923, in Burnet County, son of the late Walter and Minnie Hardcastle. He was reared and educated in Georgetown and Killeen, and married the former Miss Mary Manning August 7, 1940, in Westbrook.
They made their home in the Killeen area while he was employed as an automotive inspector for Civil Service at Fort Hood for 25 years. After his retirement, they moved to Aleman.
Mr. Hardcastle was a veteran of World War II, was an avid domino player and was a member of the Briggs Church of Christ. He was also a member of Killeen Masonic Lodge No. 1125.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Hardcastle of Aleman; one son, Kenny Hardcastle of Gatesville; one daughter, Mrs. Peggy Mathiews of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Davis of Lampasas and Mrs. Marjorie Thaxton of Corpus Christi; one brother, Willard Hardcastle of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jerry Don Hardcastle, Larry Hardcastle, Terry Hardcastle, Bryan Mathiews, Christopher Mathiews, Donnie Eary, Ray Meissner and Alan Schrank.
The family has designated Cedar Ridge Church of Christ in Gatesville for memorials.
