She was born February 25, 1924, at Hermann, daughter of Gustave Von Behren and wife Rosie, nee Wettling.
On February 28, 1942, she was united in marriage to Elmer Groppe at Hermann.
Mrs. Groppe was a housewife. She also worked at International Shoe and Florsheim Shoe for 16 years.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Groppe; one daughter-in-law, Rosie Groppe; three brothers, Leslie, Paul and Raymond Von Behren; and by one sister, Selma Schoening.
Mrs. Groppe is survived by her husband, Elmer Groppe; five sons, Wayne Groppe and wife Joyce, and Donald Groppe and wife Barbara, all of Hermann, Wilbert Groppe and wife Shella, New Haven, Dale Groppe, Berger, and Darrell Groppe, New Haven; three daughters, Elaine Oberg and husband Forrest, Kansas City, Judy Schnaath and husband Vernon, and Doreen Mitchell, all of Hermann; one sister, Ollie Bohl, Hermann; one brother, Delmar Von Behren, Hermann; 25 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 29, at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, with Rev. Nancy Tanner Thies officiating.
Interment was in New Haven Cemetery.
