Wilbert "Willie" P. Groppe, 66, of New Haven, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Groppe was born in Hermann, Missouri on December 12, 1943, the son of the late Elmer H. and Hazel (Von Behren) Groppe.

He was the husband of Shella Faye (Green) Groppe. They were married June 5, 1982 at St. Peter's U.C.C., New Haven, MO. She survives in New Haven.

Willie is also survived by a daughter, Mary O'Sullivan and husband Tim of Olathe, Kansas, five sons, Gary Groppe and wife Laurie of Cedar Park, Texas, Shawn Groppe and wife Christy of New Haven, Gerald Branson, Jr. and wife Jackie of New Haven, Steve Branson and wife Tina of Hermann, and Shannon Branson and wife Tracy of Gerald; brothers Wayne Groppe and wife Joyce of Hermann, Dale Groppe of Berger, Donald Groppe and wife Barbara of Hermann, and Darrell Groppe and wife Wendy of Labadie; sisters Elaine Oberg and husband Forrest of Kansas City, Judy Schnaath and husband Vernon of Hermann, and Doreen Mitchell and friend Dennis Hart of Hermann, and 14 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and by a brother Dennis.

He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, Missouri, the New Haven American Legion, the American Legion Riders Chapter 366, New Haven Leeve Board and a former member of the New Haven Volunteer Fire Department.

He worked as a maintenance supervisor at the Chrysler Plant in Fenton for 30 years until retirement.

Funeral Services will be held at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, Missouri at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 27th, with Rev. David Poe officiating.

Visitation wil be Friday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, Missouri.

Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven, Missouri, with full military honors.

Memorials may be given to New Haven American Legion c/o Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.
