Services for Josie Tullos Stevens, 91, of Carthage, formerly of Athens, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Terry Don Adair officiating. Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery, near Murchison.

Mrs. Stevens passed away July 8, 2007 in a Carthage hospital.

She was born January 12, 1916 in Henderson County to the late Joe Wyatt and Sarah Ann Morrison Tullos.

She was a resident of Henderson County most of her life but has resided in Carthage the past two years to be with her son and daughter in law. She married Allen Vaughn Steven in Brownsboro on April 5, 1937. Following graduation from Henderson County Junior College, School of Nursing, Mrs. Stevens worked forty-five years as a Nurse with Henderson County Memorial Hospital and finished her career with the local nursing homes. She was a member of Opelika Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, infant daughters, Margie and Martha Stevens, son, Ben W. Stevens, brothers, Troy, Jim, J.B. Tullos, sisters, Birtie Stevens, Frances "Pete" Stevens and Pearline Lewis.

Survivors include a son, Phillip Stevens and wife Linda, Carthage, daughter, Mary Ann McElyea, Mesquite, sisters, Geneva Barnes, Eva Jo Godwin, both of Athens, Virgie Paroline, Mesquite, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Chad West , Stevie Stevens, Dan Barnes, Dan Dower, Nathan Dower, Edgar Jimenez.Ricky Godwin, and Tony Volentine.
