The death certificate and the cemetery record are horribly erroneous for dates, his name, and name of parents. The cause of death on the certificate states he died of Pernicious Malaria at St. Paul Sanitorium in Dallas, Texas and his occupation was electrician.

J.G. Pitchford, aged 43, died at 10 o'clock last night at St. Paul's Sanitarium. He was born in Allen County, Kentucky and had lived in Dallas twenty-two years. He is survived by these brothers and sisters: J.J. Pitchford, Dallas,; F. Pitchford, Riley; George Pitchford, Avinger; Clay Pitchford, Durant, Ok; Bruce Pitchford and Mrs. Mary E. Thomas of Allen County, Kentucky. The funeral will be held Sunday from the George W. Loudermilk, undertaking parlors.

The funeral of S.J. Pitchford, who died Friday night, will be held this afternoon from the residence of his brother, J.J. Pitchford, 2616 Hickory street. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

I believe this is James Emory Pitchford, son of Nero C. and Elizabeth (Gatewood) Pitchford of Allen County, Kentucky. Grandson of Orange Davis Sr. and Mary E. (Fitzpatrick) Pitchford and grandson of Fletcher and Mary (Calvert) Gatewood. James is one of twelve children born to Nero and Elizabeth. The twelve are Mary Edward, Emma A., William George, Laura D., Catherine Winston, Elizabeth, Clay, James Emory, John Jasper, Loula, Bruce and Finis.
