Eight months before her death Bertha began treatments for pulmonary tuberculosis. Up to her death she lived with her brothers (James, William and Joseph) at 1594 Mt Vernon Ave. in Columbus, Ohio. Bertha worked as a seamstress for an income and was a student. She died at 25 years of age. Elizabeth was her first name and she was called by her middle name Bertha.
