Mrs. Jennie Mae (Better known as Jan) Nelson age 86 of School St. Circle Blairsville passed away on Monday Jan.4,2010 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Nelson was born on March 9,1923 in Union County, the daughter of the late Jeremiah Rich and the late Julia Colwell Rich. She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. Jan enjoyed cooking and loved being with her family. She was employed with the Union County School System for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Nelson, two sons, Wesley and Willard Clinton Helton, three brothers, Junior, David and J. M. Rich, three sisters, Mary King, Marie Guffey and Bert Arnold. Mrs. Nelson was of the Baptist faith.
