James Hunt, along with his wife, may have been one of those in the tremendous migration to Mississippi in 1837, after the last of the Indian land in Mississippi had been opened for settlement. It possible James B. Hunt and his wife, Louisa J. (Wynne) Hunt where with the Owen family on the journey from Georgia to Mississippi in an ox-cart. They would have traveled probably about 350 miles.
