SALLEY — Mr. Yankee E. "Little Yank" Williams, 82, died Saturday, July 1, 2006.
Mr. Williams was born in Orangeburg County, the son of the late Elbert R. and Bessie Bailey Williams. He was predeceased by his wife, Vivian Williams; brothers, L.B. Williams, Sr. and Kernel Williams; and sisters, Inez Moski and Elease Yon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He graduated from Clemson in 1945 and held occupations of teaching, construction and farming.
Mr. Williams is survived by brother-in-law, Brodus Yon, Sr. of Salley; sisters-in-law, Lucille Williams of Wagener and Modist Smith of West Columbia; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, July 3rd, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main St. South, Wagener, SC (803) 564-5333. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July, 4th, at 11:00 a.m., also in the Chapel, with Reverends James Hunnicutt and Benny Williams officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
