Dorothy Marion Endres Kelly was born in Portsmouth, Oh and moved to Cincinnati as a child. She was graduated from Old Woodward High School and was employed at H.H. Meyer Packing Company as a secretary.
She married Frank E. Kelly at Saint Louis Church in downtown Cincinnati on February 27, 1935. They had eight children Lois Mueller, James F. Kelly, Thomas H. Kelly, John D. Kelly, Michael J. Kelly, Kathleen M. Kelly, Patrick E. Kelly and Maureen O'Conner.
In years after her eight children were out on their own, Dorothy was able to be more involved in the community. She played the piano weekly for several years as a volunteer at the Little Sisters of the Poor, was a member of the Saint Ann's Society at St. William Church and met monthly with fellow graudates of Woodward High School's Class of 1930.
