OBITUARY

John Miller Howard

John Miller Howard, son of Isaac and Rebecca Howard, was born in Marshall County, Ill., March 20, 1872 and passed from this life Dec. 16, 1930, at Chester, Nebr. He was 58 years 8 months and 26 days old.

At the age of ten years he came with his parents in the fall of 1882 to Lincoln, Nebr. Two years later the family moved to Chester, Nebr.

On February 15, 1898, he was married to Miss Bessie Snook.

In the year 1918 Mr. Howard and his family left Chester and moved to Hereford, Colorado. Some years later he moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. In failing health he came back to Chester in September of this years.

Six children were born to this home, two sons dying in infancy, and one son and three daughters growing to manhood and womanhood.

Mr. Howard was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, having held membership in that fraternity for over 31 years.

Five sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Two sisters are living, Mrs. Luella Fraley of Chester, and Mrs. Harriet Storrs of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Greta Huntoon, of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Ina Hill, of Austin, Nevada, Mrs. Lois Sell, of Gering, Nebraska, one son, Basil, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, eight grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

All possible loving care and medical skill was given in the home of restoring him to health, but all that could be done was to try to relieve the pain and make him comfortable.
