Mrs. Rebecca W. Howard died at the home of her son, D.J. Howard, last Friday evening, aged 87 years, 2 months and 18 days. She has been a resident of Chester since October 1853. Her husband died March 30, 1885, and the oldest son, Wilson, preceded her in death passing away April 23, 1902. Three daughters and two sons survive, Ida Anderson of Pueblo, Colo.; Harriet R. Starr of Cripple Creek, Colo.; Luella Fraley and D.J. and J.M. Howard. Funeral services were held at the home of D.J. Howard, Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Johnson. Burial was made in Chester cemetery (sic). - Chester Herald.
