Luella J. Howard was born in Putnam county (sic), Illinois, November 30 1961 and departed this life at her home in Republic county (sic) Kansas near Chester, Neb., October 23, 1931, at the age of 69 years 10 months and 23 days. She was the daughter of Isaac and Rebecca Howard. When a small child she moved with her parents to Nebraska. Here and in Republic county (sic) she has since lived.

On July 17, 1906 she was united in marriage to J.O. Fraley. To this union a daughter was born, Lola, who preceded her in death in 1909. She was reared in the Quaker faith, that being the religious faith of her family.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, one step-daughter, Mrs. Cora B. Wessell of Chester, three step-sons, O.Q. and George O. of Chester, and W.H. of Beatrice, one sister, Mrs. Harriet Storrs of Colorado Spring (sic), Colo. two nephews, Arlo and Basil Howard, five nieces, Minnie I. Mumm, Edna Duey, Lois E. Sell Greta Huntoon and Ina Hill. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Hosts of friends and other relatives gather today with bowed heads in sacred memory of this one who has gone on.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 25, at 2:30 p.m., at the home, conducted by the Rev. E.L. Corbit, and interment was made in the Chester cemetery (sic). - Chester Herald.
