ROSIE BLANCHE [CANNON] PORTER (1887-1920) was born 22 October 1887, in Arlington, South Dakota. She married [Raymond] Alvraido Porter (1888-1964), on 29 November 1906, in Atlantic, Cass County, Iowa, with the marriage officiated by T.K. Billingsley.
Rosie and her husband, "Ray," became the parents of eight children, as follows:
• Blanche Labelle Porter.
• Lillian Mae Porter.
• Carl Arlie Porter.
• Rosa Irene Porter.
• Arlie Elmore Porter.
• Vallie Lucille Porter.
• Levina Marie Porter; and,
• Hazel Neva Porter (died at birth).
Tragedy struck the Porter family in 1920, when Rosie [Cannon] Porter died in childbirth.
Rosie and her infant daughter, Hazel, died February 9, 1920. They were buried in the Reno Methodist Cemetery, south of Cumberland, Iowa.
