Born out of wedlock in Trusen, Uber Schmalkalden, Hessen, Germany to Anna Caroline Schmeisserin (single) and Hanns Casper Danz who denied parentage.

Johann Caspar Danz was born 22 December 1818 in Trusen, Germany. His mother was Anna Caroline Schmeisserin. His father may have been Hans Caspar Danz. He married Eva Elisabeth Salzmann 5 November 1842. They had one son. They emigrated in 1845 and settled in Texas. His wife and son died in 1846. He married Johannette Margarethe Knaup Flick, a widow with four children, in 1848. They had three children. Johannette died in childbirth in 1857. He married Dorthea Bock in 1858. They had ten children. Caspar died in 1887. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Texas.
