Amelia Miller was born July 26, 1872 at Luzerne, IA, to Andrew and Maria Jochems Miller, She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Luzerne. Amelia was united in marriage to Fred Everett February 12, 1892 at Luzerne by Reverand Studt of the Luzerne Lutheran Church. They moved onto a farm near Jasper, MN, where they made their home for a number of years before retiring and moving into Jasper. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1942 and Mr. Everett passed away in 1944. Amelia was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Jasper and a charter member of the Trinity Ladies Aid. In 1947 Amelia moved to Sioux Falls, SD to make her home with her daughter, Esther, for 19 years before moving to the Pipestone Nursing Home in 1966. She passed away the afternoon of Saturday, July 18, 1970, at the Pipestone County Hospital at the age of 97 years, 11 months and 20 days.
She is survived by 2 sons and 5 daughters; Albert of Chicago, IL, and Robert of San Bernadino, CA, (Celelia) Mrs. Edward Wehrman of Belle Plain, IA, Mrs. Lucy Rosin of Riverside, CA, (Esther) Mrs. James Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD, (Alice) Mrs. Elmer Stempges of Pipestone, and Helen Everett of Riverside, CA; 22 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 daughters, who died in infancy, one son, Frank, her parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
