Eva M. Henschel, 87, formerly of Kiel, a resident of Cedar lake Campuses of West Bend since 1990, died there Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996.
She was born April 30, 1909 in the Town of Russell to the late John and Rosa Brickbauer. On June 6, 1931 she married Edwin E. Henschel at St. Paul E & R Church in the Town of Russell. The couple lived in Kiel. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1958. She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel for 66 years, where she sang in the Mendolssohn Choir, participated in the Senior Social Group, Woman's Guild, taught Sunday school, confirmation classes and vacation Bible school for many years. She was also active in Band Mothers, Homemakers and the Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed sewing club, gardening, baking, playing cards, reading and spending time with her family. She also served as a counselor at United Church of Christ's Moon Beach Camp for several years.
Survivors include three sons, DuWayne (LaVonne) Henschel of Kiel, Floyd (Gail) of Beaver Dam and DeLyle (Grace) of Hartford; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Anita Adams of Plymouth; and sisters-in-law, Irene (Hugo) Groshkopf of Kiel, Myrtle Kramer of Kiel and Eveline Ebeling of Howards Grove.
In addition of her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nelda Laack, and two brothers, Elmer and Oswald Brickbauer.
Funeral services were held at St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel, with the Rev. Raymond C Coombs, pastor officiating. Burial was in the Kiel Cemetery.
