Steven Willett:

Sanford: Steven O'Bryant "Bud" Willett,66 of Big Rock Lane died Friday (5-11-01) at Central Carolina Hospital.

A native of Lee County, he was a son of the late Herbert A. Willett and Lena Coley Willett.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Liddy Belle Clark, Mary Lucy Caryle and Inez Cranford and brothers Lynn Willett and Mack W. Willett.

He was a member of Moore Union Christian Church and was employed by Willett's Logging.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Moore Union Christian Church by the Rev. David Yarborough and the Rev. Billy Norris. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Mattie Hiatt Willett of the home, sons, Herbert O. Willett of Broadway and Troy S. Willett of Sanford; daughters, Lena M. Gulledge and Joyce W. Phillips both of Sanford. Barbara W. McGehee of Ether and Carol W. Slaczka of Raleigh, a brother, Larry M. Willett of Sanford; sisters; Alma W. Johnson and Ruby W. Martin, both of Sanford, Geneva W. Frye of Cameron and Barbara J. Lee of Winston-Salem abd 14 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. Memroials may be made to Moore Union Christian Chruch Cemetery Fund. 4294 Buckhorn Road, Sanford, N.C. 27330

SANFORD: Funeral services for Steven O'Briant "Bud" Willett 66 of Big Rock Lane, who died Friday (5-11-2001) were held Monday at Moore Union Christian Church by the Rev. David Yarborough and the Rev. Billy Norris. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
David Yarborough and Billy Norris sang "How Great Thou Art" and David Yarborough sang "Amazing Grace" Pianist was Peggy Womack. Pallbearers were Henry Stewart, Darrell Doby, Hollis Dowdy, Frank Williams, Dan Burton and Josh Smith. Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

Steven Willett was my nephew. I never had the chance to meet him, but I know his Sister well and know he was loved and will be missed by many. REST IN PEACE DEAR STEVEN
