EUGENE GILBERT CORNETT
Eugene Gilbert Cornett was born in Humeston, Iowa, Sept. 19, 1898 and passed away at the St. Joseph hospital at Centerville, Iowa, Dec. 30, 1943. He leaves to mourn his passing his mother, three brothers and three sisters: Clarence, Kenneth, George, of Centerville, Iowa; Mrs. L. G. Grant, of Granger, Mo., Mrs. John Pettis, of Van Wert, and Mrs. Arthur Miller, of Humeston, Iowa, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
At the age of 20 he moved with his family to Centerville where he was employed by the Rock Island Railway until the time of his death. When he was 16 years old he united with the Methodist church at Weldon, Iowa, of which he was still a member. On Oct. 19, 1942, he was inducted into the army and was discharged April 10, 1943 on account of his age.
Gene was a kind and loving son and brother and will be greatly missed by all.
