MOSS POINT --- James O. Dowdy, 77, died June 2, 2002, in Moss Point.
Mr. Dowdy was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Moss Point and was a lifelong resident. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding, where he worked in the aluminum fab shop.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Dowdy of Moss Point; two sons, Robert Dowdy and James Dowdy, both of Vancleave; one daughter, Barbara Ann Daniels of Hampton, Ga.; a brother, Jessie Donald Dowdy of Escatawpa; a sister, Pauline Smith of Wade; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services will beat 2 p.m. Wednesday at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa, directed by Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point.
