She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Smith, her parents Jesse and Zena Dowdy, her sister Dorothy Waltman, her brother James O. Dowdy.
She is survived by her brother Jesse Dowdy of Escatawpa, MS; her nieces and nephews, Robert (Dee Dee) Dowdy, James (Skeeter) Dowdy all of Vancleave, MS; Barbara Daniels of Dayton, TN; Brenda Sue (Doug) Knippers of Pascagoula, MS; Vicki (Issac) Denton of Wade, MS; William C. "Man" (Evelyn) Waltman of Escatawpa, MS; Cheryl (Mike) Whitehead of Gautier, MS; Debbie (Don) Knowles of Ocean Springs, MS; Dee Dee (Debbie) Dosher of Escatawpa, MS; many great nieces, great nephews.
Visitation will be Friday January 30, 2009 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS. funeral service will begin at 3:00pm from the funeral home chapel burial will follow in Serene Memorial Gardens cemetery in Moss Point, MS.
