Shortened his surname from Korytoski to Kory.

FRANK KORY – PORTAGE – Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Nativity of Our Savior Church for Frank Kory, 89, of 7050 Sherwood. Kory died Saturday morning of a heart attack at his home.

Born Oct 28, 1885, in Chesterton, he was the son of William and Mary Kory. He married Helen Janowski, who died in 1969. A resident of this area all his life, Kory was a retired railroad section foreman. He was a member of the Nativity of our Savior Church.

His survivors are daughters Mary Meyne, Frances Kory and Margaret Kory, all of Portage; sons Edward, of Griffith, and Leo of Hobart; 11 grandchildren; and sisters Mary Lee and Minnie Cole, both of Chesterton.

Friends may call at the Carl Edmonds Funeral Home, Chesterton, until 9 tonight, with rosary at 7:30 p.m. Father Carl Mengeling will officiate at services Tuesday with burial at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Chesterton.

Another contributor asked me to add the following to Frank's memorial. "Frank was born in 1885 and his parents did not immigrate from Germany until 1888. According to the 1900 and 1910 census records, Frank's place of birth is listed as Germany and immigration date is given as 1888. His place of birth is also stated as Germany on his 1910 marriage record. "
