Carrie M. Michieli, 85, of Sterling died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1993 in Fort Collins.
Visitation is until 8 p.m., today,Nov. 8 at Tennant Funeral Home.Vigil and Rosary is at 7 p.m.,Monday at Tennant Funeral Home.Funeral service will be 10 a.m.,
Tuesday, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Blanco officiating. Burial at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Michieli was born Jan. 6, 1908 to Antonio and Mary Piazza Bertapelle in Rosati, Mo. She came to Logan County when she was 9 months old and attended schools here.
On Dec. 6, 1927 she married Toby Michieli at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, She and her hus band farmed and fed cattle until 1954.
The couple purchased Quality Packing in 1954 which they operated with their Sons Rudy and Ron. In 1970 the couple semi-retired and sold the business to their son Rudy and his wife.She was a member of St.Anthony's Catholic Church, Royal Neighbors Lodge of America, Catholic daughters of America, St. Margarite's circle (St. Anthony's Catholic Church). She worked until she went to the hospital.
She is survived by sons, Rudy and Ron both of Sterling; daughters, Mary Rollins of Houston, Texas and Elma Huss of Marshall Town, Iowa; brothers Woodrow V. Bertapelle of Sterling and Arthur Bertapelle of McLean, Vu.; great aunts, Sister Rita Piazza of Chicago, Ill, and Anne Cucarola of Sterling; cousin, Edith Datteri of Atwood, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchid.She was preceded in death by her husband Toby, brothers Rudolph Bertapelle and Fred Bertapelle, and a sister Elena Facchinello. Memorial contributions may be given for Mass.
