Mrs. Albert Henderson of Clearbrook died suddenly last Saturday evening after a brief illness, death being ascribed to acute tonsilitis and heart failure. Her passing was a distict shock to the community and family of five children and husband.
Although Mrs. Henderson had been ill withthe flu for several days, she was up again and caring for her family. On Thursday evening she became ill with tonsilitis, which was not thought particularly serious. However, on Saturday evening she became noticeably weaker, and an ambulance was called to take her to a hospital. Before it had arrived she had passed away. At the time of her death she was 40 years fo age.
Mrs. Henderson (nee Bessie Larson) was born at Long Prairie, Minnesota, April 1, 1898, where she spent her early days with her family. As a young woman she taught schools at Gonvick, Clearbrook, St. Vincent, Leonard, and rural Bagley.
On June 14, 1925, she was joined in holy wedlock at Mahnomen to Albert Henderson, who mourns her passing. To this union were born three boys and two girls, Dennis 11 years, Donna 9, Jean 7, Jimmie 5, and Charles 1. All survive.
She will also be mourned by nine brothers and sisters, Mrs. E. E. Lewis of Clearbrook, Mrs. George Ash of Chicago, A. C. Larson of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Lewis, Edwin and Orvin Larson of Bagley, Mrs. Fred Ehlers of Leonard, Mrs. E. L. Nordstrom of Detroit Lakes, and Harold Larson of Cass Lake, and a host of friends through the county.
Since making her home at Clearbrook Mrs. Henderson had been active in the community, within the American Lgion Auxiliary, the Welfare club, the Girl Scouts, and the town circle of the Bethsaida Ladies Aid.
The funeral service was held at Clearbrook Tuesday afernoon, with Rev. Edw. Liningstone in charge of the service. Interment was made in the Clearbrook Cemetery. A huge crowd paid their last respects to a friend.
